A special group of our senior customers, the Libertyville Travelers get together to travel, attend special events and enjoy each other’s company. Activities include full-length vacations, day-trips, and cultural events including “live” local theater, museums, and galleries.
There’s no cost to join, and it’s a great way to make new friends and enjoy all that your community has to offer. If you meet all of the membership requirements listed below, then fill out the application and bring it in to one of our nearby branches.

Libertyville Travelers 2014-2015 Schedule
September 9, 2014 (Tuesday) Cinnamon Ridge Dairy
Experience a unique dairy operation of “robotic milking”. We will have a presentation about their operation which includes a tour of their cow and hog facilities. Lunch on the property is included and a visit to their self-serve store. (We will have some coolers available on board should you want to bring any purchases home.) For this trip pick up will be in Batavia @ the BP, 7:15AM, Libertyville at 7:30AM, Fairfield at 7:40AM (True Value east parking lot) and in Keota at the city parking lot north of the Bank at approximately 8:25AM. Our approximate return time is 5:00- 5:30PM. Cost: $85.00 per person.
Overnight trip to Dubuque, Wednesday & Thursday, October 1 & 2, 2014
We will visit Matchstick Marvels in Gladbrook and Barn Happy in Cedar Falls. Lunch is included. Time to browse this facility and check out Iowa made products. Wednesday afternoon we will visit Nashua, the Little Brown Church, and tour the Chickasaw Museum. We will have a unique dining experience at Dotzy’s Restaurant & Saloon in Elgin. We will order from the menu with cost for the meal “on your own.” Our overnight stay will be at Quality Inn & Suites in East Dubuque. Thursday, our breakfast will be at our motel and then visit The National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium, and follow up with a late morning stop in Dyersville at The Field of Dreams. The “ghost ball players” may make an appearance. Camp Courageous, in Monticello, will be our lunch stop plus we will learn about this facility.
Departures (Wed): Libertyville at 7:30AM followed by a pick up at the Keota city parking lot (north of the Bank) at 8:20AM. Our approximate return time is 5:30PM with Keota being dropped off first and then we will make the Libertyville stop. The cost for this trip is: $140.00 (double occupancy). If interested, payment can be made to any teller and forwarded to Libertyville. Sign up early!! I’d like to have our group numbers no later than September 10th.
Day Trip Thursday, December 4, 2014 we will visit The Old Creamery Theatre (matinee)
“A 1940s Radio Christmas Carol” – A holiday comedy filled with music and the spirit of Christmas. Depart from Batavia 10:45AM, Libertyville 11:00AM; Fairfield 11:10AM (True Value Parking Lot); 12:00PM Keota (city parking lot north of the Bank) and on to Amana. You may want to bring a snack or have an early lunch. There is no planned lunch stop. The performance is at 2:00 PM. We will return home after the performance leaving around 4:30PM. Cost is: $70.00.
POTLUCK Dinner: Sunday, January 11, 2015 Faith United Methodist Church in Libertyville
Bring a covered dish and enjoy a great meal with friends and fellow travelers. Table service & drinks will be provided + entertainment. We will plan to serve at 1:00 PM. There is no charge! Calling in your reservation or leaving a message with a teller would be helpful and encouraged.
Day Trip: Wednesday, February 25, 2015 Circa ’21, Rock Island (matinee)
We will see the Broadway sensation “Les Miserables”. This trip includes dinner, show, tax & gratuity. Prior to going to the Theatre we will stop at the John Deere Pavillion for a brief visit. Departure times: Batavia 8:30AM; Libertyville 8:40AM; Fairfield 8:50AM (True Value Hardware parking lot) Keota (city parking lot north of the Bank) at9:30 AM. The performance is over approximately 4:30PM. We will return home directly after the play. Cost is: $75.00.
Overnight: Thursday, March 26 – 31, 2015 Washington DC (6 days/5 nights)
Two full-day guided tours of Washington DC featuring WWII Memorial, Capitol Hill Embassy Row, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Smithsonian, Martin Luther King, Jr National Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, an evening guided memorial and monuments tour. We will visit Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknowns, & Kennedy Graves. The cost is: $499.00 per person double occupancy. A deposit of $75.00 is required when signing up. Alaskan Adventure: June 11– 21, 2015 Alaska Land + Sea Journey
Our adventure begins with a flight from Des Moines to Anchorage, AK. We will have an overnight stay in Anchorage before beginning the land tour of Denali and the Tundra Wilderness. (2 nights stay in Denali). Sunday we begin our cruise on Holland America Line at Seward and on to Glacier Bay with port stops at Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan and on to Vancouver returning home on Sunday, June 21, 2015. The cruise ship is: Oosterdam. The costs vary as to your choice of accommodations on the ship; for an inside room costing $2250.00 – to an outside room or a room with a balcony $3000.00. The cost of our air travel is $1175.00 (price may vary a bit—with taxes). We will have an overnight stay in Des Moines as we need to be at the airport by 5:30AM. Motel & transportation costs $150.00 each. The amounts above are based on double occupancy. If you are interested…let me know. I will get more detailed information to you. A passport is required!
