A special group of our senior customers, the Libertyville Travelers get together to travel, attend special events and enjoy each other’s company. Activities include full-length vacations, day-trips, and cultural events including “live” local theater, museums, and galleries.
There’s no cost to join, and it’s a great way to make new friends and enjoy all that your community has to offer. If you meet all of the membership requirements listed below, then fill out the application and bring it in to one of our nearby branches.

RECENT successful trip to Washington DC, Thursday, March 26 – 31, 2015
Our Travelers enjoyed a two day guided tour of Washington DC featuring WWII Memorial, Capitol Hill Embassy Row, Korean War Veterans Memorial, Vietnam Veterans Memorial, Smithsonian, Martin Luther King, Jr National Memorial, Lincoln Memorial, an evening guided memorial and monuments tour. They visited Arlington National Cemetery, the Tomb of the Unknowns, & Kennedy Graves.

Alaskan Adventure: June 11– 21, 2015 Alaska Land + Sea Journey
Our adventure begins with a flight from Des Moines to Anchorage, AK. We will have an overnight stay in Anchorage before beginning the land tour of Denali and the Tundra Wilderness. (2 nights stay in Denali). Sunday we begin our cruise on Holland America Line at Seward and on to Glacier Bay with port stops at Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan and on to Vancouver returning home on Sunday, June 21, 2015. The cruise ship is: Oosterdam. The costs vary as to your choice of accommodations on the ship; for an inside room costing $2250.00 – to an outside room or a room with a balcony $3000.00. The cost of our air travel is $1175.00 (price may vary a bit—with taxes). We will have an overnight stay in Des Moines as we need to be at the airport by 5:30AM. Motel & transportation costs $150.00 each. The amounts above are based on double occupancy. A passport is required! 13 travelers leave for Anchorage, overnight in Anchorage and Denali for 2 nights before beginning their cruise via Holland America for 7 days; beginning @ Seward with stops in Glacier Bay, Haines, Juneau, Ketchikan and on to Vancouver returning home on the 21st.
July 12, 2015 – (Sunday) Picnic @ JEB’S Park in Batavia
A picnic with entertainment and a meal of sloppy joes & hotdogs + all the trimmings. Serving is to begin at 5:00 PM. Invite a friend, guests are welcome. Location: south of the railroad tracks turning east on Broadway; 2 blocks and you are @ Jeb’s. A very nice limestone shelter next to a pond! Cost: $10.00.
August 20, 2015 (Thursday) Studio Stage @ Amana & Ox Yoke Inn
“Waiting for the Parade” is a performance of struggling through life at home during WWII, five women brave unique battles. Waiting for the Parade offers a rare glimpse into the effects of war on those left behind. Performance begins @ 2:00 PM. Lunch will be at Ox Yoke @ 11:30AM. Yes, Time to shop a bit before the show. Departures: Batavia 9:00 AM; Libertyville 9:15AM; Fairfield 9:30AM (parking @ True Value Hardware). Please make reservation(s) by August 3rd. Cost $100.00.
September 24, 2015 (Thursday) Experience a ride on the Mississippi River via Celebration Belle.
We will have entertainment of “classic oldies music” + a narrated ride on the River. A snack upon boarding; nice hot lunch and snack before departure from the riverboat. Departures: Batavia 7:30 AM; Libertyville 7:45AM; Fairfield 8:00 AM (pick up @ True Value Hardware). Please make reservation(s) by September 10th. Cost per person: $105.00.
October 10 – 18, 2015 New Orleans (Saturday – Sunday)
A 9 day 8 night trip by motor coach to New Orleans with Diamond Tours/ Libertyville Travelers. A guided tour of a Louisiana plantation, riverboat cruise, a visit National World War II Museum, guided tour of New Orleans and much more. This trip is full and we have a waiting list. If you do have interest; call the Bank and we can add your name(s) to the list should a cancellation occur.
November 4, 2015 (Wednesday) circa ’21 Dinner Playhouse
“Route 66” A new romantic musical comedy This is a story of a charmingly neurotic journalist from Chicago and the cowboy photographer with whom she teams up to do a magazine piece about the historic old highway. In the process of rediscovering America, the two of them fall in love—not only with one another, but with the good ole USA. Departures: Batavia 7:30 AM; Libertyville 7:45AM; Fairfield 8:00 AM (pick up @ True Value Hardware). We will stop at the John Deere Pavilion prior to arriving at circa’21…browse a bit and use their restrooms. Circa’s restroom facilities are on the lower level and it’s more convenient to stop @ JD Pavilion. Performance begins @ 1:30PM. We will return home directly after the performance. Please make your reservation(s) by October 21st. Cost $101.00.
